An experienced writing mentor and workshop leader, Nancy is a recipient of the Chairs’ Faculty Teaching Award at University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She also serves as a mentor for the Spalding School of Creative and Professional Writing MFA program.
Nancy has led writing workshops and given readings and talks at colleges and universities, high schools, book festivals, independent reading series, libraries, community groups, and radio shows.
She has also given workshops at Chautauqua, for the Straw Dog Writers Guild in Massachusetts, the Larksong Center in Nebraska, Louisville Literary Arts in Kentucky, and online for the Creative Nonfiction Foundation, Muse Writing, and Craft Talks.
In addition to generative workshops and critique workshops that are both nurturing and rigorous, she has given themed workshops.
